What I Wore to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden (Featuring Voodoo Vixen)

This polka dot dress was perfect for my trip to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. It's one of my favorite places in Brooklyn. You're immediately transported to a wondrous world of nature. The colorful surroundings can't help but brighten your day as you stroll along the walkway.

My hair was doing something weird that day, but the dress fit like a glove. It felt comfortable with just the right amount of whimsy. I added a petticoat for extra fluff. Although I was apprehensive about the color, it turned out great and I fielded compliments from strangers all day!

The day was filled with magical spring moments and I'm glad to have worn something special. My adorable tote is from one of my favorite etsy shops. It suits my style to a T!

I'm not sure how I feel about the Time Warp Wives in the video below. Obviously I like the aesthetic and am striving for similar home decor. Also, if someone wants to be a housewife, more power to them, that's the idea of feminism. However...when these folks had tea with their "similar friends," they seemed so judge-y. They kept talking about the morals of a better time..which seems super naive. Maybe manners were better, but I would never want to live in an era that had 10x more misogyny and racism than it does now..

Also, website Shiny Shiny called me one of the 9 most stylish women on the internet, which was a crazy honor. Thank you!

Quirky Home Decor Gift Guide

Uncommon Goods approached me to do a review of one of their items. They had so many cute things, it was hard to choose just one so I decided to do a gift guide for the quirky girl in your life who happens to love home decor.

I like supporting small business and Uncommon Goods has a variety of unique designers. They are conscious of the environment, pay their workers fairly and many of their products come USA-made. These are all pros for an online retailer.

The site has all kinds of personalized gifts, including jewelry. My favorite was the record doormat from the list above. It’s perfect for the musical couple in your life. If you’re looking for cute girly things, you can also search here. Obviously the whimsical stuff caught my eye, like the food pillows and the  gummy bear lights...I might just have a thing for food decor. The unicorn bowl won my heart, while the pink planter would go perfectly in my place. I plan to add many of these things to my list of home decor!

Happy Easter: What I Wore to Welcome Spring!

Twee Valley High // Sourpuss Clothing

So I totally caved and kept this coat. I was initially trying to sell it so I could get a larger size, but it works well as an open spring coat, especially since it's still chilly in NYC. I don't mind the cold much, it's just difficult picking an outfit amidst changing weather.

This might be one of my most colorful looks. I adore pastels, as you can tell from my blog, but I definitely don't own enough. I love that this look is nearly pastel from head to toe. I planned the outfit around this adorable Sourpuss purse, which was gifted to me a while back. They also sent me a few lovely scarves that work really well with my bouffant. I like having a starting point to work backwards from. I tend to start somewhere in the middle and work my way out when getting dressed.

Today I plan to decorate eggs and eat some chocolate bunnies. I hope you have a wonderful Easter and a fabulous spring season!
