Inspiration of the Week: Valley of the Dolls

I've been holding onto my paperback of Valley of the Dolls for who knows how long. I always meant to read it, but kept putting it off for some unknown reason. I finally got around to it after being encouraged by Hannah in the comments of her lovely xovain beauty tutorial. I LOVED it obviously. While the book was addictive and wonderful, I can't really say the same about the movie. It kind of lost the magic of their friendship and the believablity of the love stories, but of course, the fashion is wonderful and who doesn't love a good dose of camp?! (Sparkle Neely Sparkle!!!!!!!!). Here's a collection of my favorite Valley of the Dolls photos and a few inspired editorials. I can't help but love that fabulous 60's vibe!

Prada's Great Gatsby

It's been a while, but I was lucky enough to catch Prada's Great Gatsby exhibit on it's very last day. It was seriously gorgeous and felt sort of magical to see the costumes up close and  personal. Here is a collection of a few of my favorites.

What I Wore to Go Shopping

Ok, so this post is not exactly weather appropriate, but I am excited (obviously) to finally show you my crazy lady flower hat! It sat decorative on my wall for at least a year until the day I decided to take it for a stroll. To be honest..it feels like I have a pink beehive on my head with white chicken feathers attached to the top, but the weird thing is, I totally love it. It's so strange and colorful. What's not to love? The rest of my look is comprised of my favorite purple dress, rididculously comfy BASS loafers and a petticoat that seems to be trying to escape!
