My 28th Birthday

I have one of those holiday birthdays that occasionally lands on Thanksgiving. This year, it fell the day after. My mom and grandma took the time to come from Texas to NYC. I threw a small gathering early in the month, which involved massive amounts of doughnuts. I celebrated the week of with fancy food and family time. It was a blissful birthday month! A Very Twee Valley High Birthday Wishlist!

It's a small victory, but having a new computer has me excited to blog again! I scoured the internet to share some awesome wishlist items. This list is me in a nutshell. It combines the things I love most, like...The Ronettes, Archie comics, Belle and Sebastian and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Not to mention brunch and some dog-tastic shoes.  Seriously, this might be the best wishlist I've ever created. P.S. How much does that brooch at the top totally look like me? It's a serious jewelry doppleganger. 

Last year my birthday was on Thanksgiving, but this year, it falls the day after. I'm happy to say I have family visiting ON my birthday. We're headed to a fancy restaurant and will have a fabulous time. I can't wait!

Fall Fashion and New Hair!

Yay fall! I recently had a picnic in Central Park where I wore this fabulous fall ensemble. The dress is my go-to come November. It's seasonably appropriate and always reminds me of Mad Men. The colors come together in a really nice fashion. 

There's a short period of time between wondrous, bright leaves to completely bare trees. It's my favorite time of year when fashion and nature become equally colorful. A friend of a friend needed a hair model so I stepped in. It's shorter than I'm used to, but I love it. It's easy to create the perfect 60's bob, not to mention, my signature flip! I hope to get back to Central Park once more before winter. For now, I'll enjoy the beautiful Bed Stuy brownstones right here in Brooklyn.

Due to my job search, when I'm not networking, I spend a lot of time at home. I love my apartment and how homey it truly feels. I'm all about home goods, especially cookware! This might be due to my marathon of Food Network madness (holla to Bobby Flay). 

I'm also a fan of absurd pillows, even if my couch is officially out of room. I put together a gift guide or wishlist of sorts as I browsed the plethora of online items.

Charmingly Happy Accessories

Where have I BEEN?! I know..i know..my previous computer basically died, which made it difficult to do any sort of blogging. Paired with friends and family in town, it's been a busy season. Although fall has arrived, I don't feel quite done with pinks and pastels. Happiness Boutique recently sent some colorful samples, perfect for any season. I've worn them multiple occasions and especially love these green chandeliers. The shape is very modern art deco! The second pair adds to my abundance of floral accessories. I'm a fan of the pretty simplicity.  These were my top two but you can find more (well-priced) items on their site!

Happy Fashion Week!

Today is full of fun fashion activities. I can't wait! Fall may soon approach, but summer style is still very needed. I wore this colorful look a few weeks back, but it could make a repeat appearance. I love how easy and eye-catching this vintage style feels. Dakota looks equally picture-esque in her dress. We had the same idea when it comes to decorative florals. It made for fabulous impromptu photos in a lovely Greenpoint park. Even Tallulah is gussied up matching her mama in purple ruffles!

Style Spotlight: Stunning Flapper on Governor's Island

This particular model caught my eye. She stood out from the crowd in her perfectly wavy hair and casual glam style. She is stunning from head to toe and incredibly photogenic. It didn't take much for her to pose with props from a local vendor. Each photo was unique and lovely, I had to share in a separate post. I hope you enjoy the last of my Jazz Age content. We will resume regular 60's style sometime soon!
