The 20th Anniversary of Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Happy 20th Anniversary to Buffy the Vampire Slayer!!!

It was 20 years today that little Kristina, 9 years old, sat in front of the TV and fell in love with this quirky, scary, funny, empowered show. I was home every Tuesday night and my walls were soon covered in Buffy memorabilia. I've never been more a fan of anything in my entire life.

Now that I think of it, kind of a weird show for a 9 year old, my mom definitely questioned some moments, but nothing could stop my love for the world created by Joss Whedon. To this day, the season 2 finale makes me cry, but of course, I'm a sucker for them all. I sat with my friend and a plethora of treats as the series finale unfolded. I remember the sadness of knowing it was the end. Sure there was Angel, but it wasn't the the same.

There were certainly ups and downs, but the show stands as a wonderful, collective piece of work. Thank you to Joss Whedon for creating a show that showed an imperfect girl kicking ass on a weekly basis. Sarah Michelle Gellar posted a lovely note on Facebook about the 20th Anniversary.
