Fashion Week: Christian Siriano Fall 2012

Whether going to shows or eyeing collections from afar, I still get giddy excited every time fashion week rolls around. From the street style and celebrities to the actual show, everything about fashion week is exciting! This year I was lucky enough to see Christian Siriano's newest collection for Fall 2012.
I had the full fashion experience. Right before the show started, I was washing my hands in the bathroom next to a woman in a lovely, bright fushia dress (A Siriano of course). She complimented my hat, which happened to be a leopard pill box hat, and we both left at the same time. Suddenly she was mobbed by photographers and I realized....
..it was Mena Suvari looking "fierce" as Christian would say!
Then I ran into Brad Goreski (stylist/former Rachel Zoe assistant). Is it weird I told him that I relate to all his fashion career meltdowns on It's A Brad Brad World?
Looking dapper as usual!
Getting back to the clothes, I've seen a few Siriano collections in the past, along with his work on Project Runway, but this collection caught me by surprise. He's known to favor dramatic, almost over-the-top dreamy fashion, but he held back this season, just the perfect amount. The clothes were beautiful and made for the every-day elegant woman (except for the sheer nipple tops, I just can't get behind those). Overall, it was a dark, yet softly glamourous collection full of sophisticated details and hints of drama thrown in where you'd least expect.
I especially liked this flowy wine-colored dress. I'm thinking...Rooney Mara at the Oscars?
Tom and Lorenzo put together these collages of the amazing collection on their website. For their review, head over to tomandlorenzo.com.
Look out for street style from this event and more show reviews to come!

It's Fashion Week!

Fashion Week gives me excited butterflies and hopeful anxiety of possibilities. It's like the feeling I get during South by South West (SXSW) or even when I go thrifting. Exciting stuff!
Keep an eye out here, BUST.comand/or @tweevalleyhigh for Fashion Week Updates. Oh yeah, and TheRebelWaltz.com for tons of FW Street Style!
